YetAnotherGeekBlog.com now powered by Drupal!
YetAnotherGeekBlog.com is now powered by Drupal! I moved to a new data center, VPS.NET, and set up a new cloud-based virtual private server running CentOS 5.5, Apache 2.2, MySQL 5.0, and PHP 5.2. It was only natural to take this opportunity to switch to Drupal. One of my goals now will be to show how Drupal can be used as a great (and easy) platform for blogging. It will take me a while to write new content and import some of my better content from the previous YetAnotherGeekBlog.com, so stay tuned as things progress.
I must say, so far I have been extremely pleased with VPS.NET. I don't think it could possibly be easier to set up a Linux server from scratch. The administrative control panel is a delight to use for things like restarting the server, adding CPU/RAM nodes, installing the operating system, etc. Once set up, you have full control of the server via SSH to set up unlimited virtual named hosts for multiple websites, additional PHP extensions, etc. The whole process took minutes!
